Checkbox Group Height ignored?

I am loading about 100 elements into a checkbox group component and would like to display about 30 of them on a page to assimilate a multiple selection listbox that one can scroll through.  However, this component always shows all items and seems to ignore the height property.  Am I doing something wrong?
