Re: Hierarchy Node Authorization in a Bex query

Hi Preethi,

I expect that the (wider) hierarchy authorization overrules the value authorization.

However, I suggest to perform an authorization check using t/code RSECADMIN. Here you can find the trace functionality where you can do an authorization check for a particular user and BEx Query via RSRT. Make sure to flag the checkbox Log. Analyze afterwards the authorization trace log. Here you can find all checks and the comparison between selected set and authorized set.

Please also have a look at SAP Note  1904962 - How to Analyze a "No Authorization" or Showing Too Much Data Issue with BW Analysis Authorization (and the related SAP Notes). Here you can find a lot of information.

E.g. under point 3. I read the following: "A hierarchy node authorization can satisfy single value (or multiple single values) selection if the value is under the node."

Best regards,

Sander
